ROUND ROCK — The SWAT softball team finished 2-3-1 at the South National.

Despite losing their final game, assistant coach Leno Garza said the 8-and-under players competed with all they had.

“They played good ball, they hit the ball hard, they played defense,” he said. “They have nothing to be ashamed of.”

On Friday, SWAT lost 12-11 to San Bendito, Calif., after beating the Saginaw Stingrays 15-4 in an elimination game.

Against San Benito, SWAT took a four-run lead, but San Bendito came back to tie.
