Marble Falls SWAT softball team competes at nationals
ROUND ROCK — The SWAT softball team finished pool play 1-1-1 at the South National Tournament on July 20-21.
The 8-and-under team defeated the Harlingen Evolution 9-8 in the morning contest but lost 12-4 to the Ville Platte All-Stars of Lousiana in the afternoon game July 20. The 8-8 tie was to Rip 03 on July 21.
Assistant coach Leno Garza said SWAT competed well enough to win the tournament’s opener
“We didn’t come out and hit the ball,” he said. “It was early. Everybody had to be there by 7 a.m.”
Still, there were plenty of reasons to be happy, he added, including the team starting the national tournament with a win.
