Lower Colorado River Authority utilities sale may happen next month

AUSTIN — A buyer for several water and wastewater systems now owned by the Lower Colorado River Authority could be approved as early as next month.

Eleven of those systems are in Burnet, Lampasas and Llano counties.

“The earliest the LCRA board could make a decision is during its Aug. 24 meeting,” LCRA spokeswoman Clara Tuma said. “LCRA anticipates it will take 12 to 18 months from the time a buyer is chosen until the sale is complete.”
