Marble Falls SWAT takes second at softball tourney
MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls SWAT all-star softball team finished second at the Beat the Heat IV Tournament during the weekend after going 6-1 overall.
“The girls hit the ball well,” assistant coach Leno Garza said. “You go to a lot of these tournaments, and everybody puts the bat on the ball. (Our) girls are hitting line drives into the gaps.”
The format is coach-pitch, which means coaches still pitch to batters.
Garza said manager John Hamilton does a great job of pitching the ball over the plate. Other coaches struggle.
