ROUND ROCK — The Marble Falls High School 7-on-7 varsity football team went 2-1 at the Round Rock Westwood qualifying tournament May 28.

The Mustangs lost to the host school, 22-21, in overtime, in the first game of the event.

“We had Westwood beat, and we got some late game penalities in their final drive,” coach Jerry Watson said. “We were ahead by one. They went for two and made it.”

Still, Marble Falls shook off the loss and beat District 25-4A foes Cedar Park Vista Ridge, 38-30, and Cedar Park High, 40-20.

Incoming-senior quarterback Zed Woerner took the majority of the snaps throughout the tournament.

Incoming junior Jay Watson and incoming sophomore Carson Bowen took some snaps at quarterback against Cedar Park High.
