BURNET — Burnet High School junior outfielder Kati Maldonado was named the District 25-3A Defensive Player of the Year.

Head coach Amanda Carpenter announced the selection earlier in the week.

Named first team all-district are junior outfielder Hillary Foster, senior shortstop Savannah Erskine, senior first baseman Ashten Huddleston and junior pitcher Kristen Spinn.

Named to the second team are junior outfielder Courtnie Crouch and freshman third baseman Ashleigh Glover.

Honorable mention honors went to junior catcher Allison Eaton and junior second baseman Samantha Lawrence.

Academic all-district honorees include Erskine, Maldonado, Eaton, Spinn, Lawrence, Crouch and Amanda Green.

“We had a great season and consecutive years of making the playoffs,” Carpenter said. “Tradition can start at any time, and our goal is to make it a tradition that Burnet is in the playoffs and contending for district every season.”
