MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls High School softball team is preparing to face a Smithson Valley squad that will challenge the Lady Mustangs every way.

That’s the word from head coach Tino Salazar.

The best-of three series starts 7 p.m. May 5 at Scearce Softball Field, 2101 Mustang Drive. Game 2 is 6 p.m. May 6 at Smithson Valley with Game 3, if necessary, to follow 30 minutes after the end of the second game.

“I’m glad we have the first game here,” Salazar said.

Both squads come from districts that have prepared them well, he said. So the winning team will be the squad that commits the fewest mistakes.

In many ways, the Rangers, the District 28-4A champion, and the Lady Mustangs are very similar.
