Mary Leota ‘Hallie’ Halliburton
Mary Leota “Hallie” Halliburton, 89, died Jan. 16, 2011. She was born May 28, 1921, in Barry, Ill., to Grace and Otis Boyd. She attended Gem City Business School in Quincy, Ill., and married Virgil Musick Halliburton in 1950.
She moved to Texas and lived in Corpus Christi for two years, then relocated to Houston, where she lived for more than 50 years. She was widowed in 1969.
She was a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church, then Braeburn Presbyterian Church in Houston.
She moved to Marble Falls in 2006 and became a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.
She retired from JCPenney, where she worked as a customer service representative. She was interested in gardening, baking, activities with her family, pets and church. She volunteered at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in Houston for many years.
Survivors include daughters Terri Whaley and husband Robert of Bertram, and Gay Hasle and husband Wayne of Houston; granddaughters Erika and husband Jon Raffensperger of Chicago, and Jennifer Whaley of Houston; niece Pat Delaney of New Braunfels; nephew Eddie Cook of Scottsdale, Ariz.; brother-in-law Harold Halliburton of Bulverde; sister-in-law Lucille Quinn of Canton, Mo.; and her cat April.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
A memorial service is 2 p.m. Jan. 21 at St. Andrew, 201 RR 1431 East in Marble Falls.
After the service, she will be cremated and interred next to her husband at Forest Park Westheimer in Houston.
