Martha Ruth Gillespie
Martha Ruth Gillespie, 74, of Horseshoe Bay died Jan. 6, 2011. She was born June 27, 1936, in Jackson County, Tenn. She was the daughter of Carl Dill and Aline Locke.
She worked as a scheduling administrator for Ratheon for most of her life. She also worked at the Walmart in Marble Falls and enjoyed sewing, reading and playing cards.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Joseph Daniel Gillespie of Horseshoe Bay; daughters JoAnn Catcott of Round Rock, Jackie Gillespie of Pflugerville and Julie Gillespie of San Antonio; son Jay Gillespie and wife Milene of Houston; grandchildren Jennifer, Jessica, Jameson and Danny III; brothers Charles Dill of Detroit and Phillip Mahan of Pensacola, Fla.; and sisters Joyce Walker of Crossville, Tenn., and Sammie Sparks of Cookeville, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather Vestal Mahan.
A rosary was recited Jan. 10 at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bay.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Jan. 11 at St. Paul with the Rev. Ruben Patino officiating.
