Wildering B. Sherrod Edwards, 94, of Llano died Dec. 21, 2010. She was born Oct. 15, 1916 in Ralls to B and Ezzie (Robinson) Sherrod.

She lived in Ralls and Idalou, then moved to Lubbock in 1923 when her father opened Sherrod Hardware. She graduated from Lubbock High School and also attended Abilene Christian University and Iowa State.

On Sept. 18, 1937, she married Jennings Bryan Edwards in Lubbock. They had three children.

She was chosen Lubbock Woman of the Year in 1961.

After her children grew up, she earned a master’s degree from Texas Tech University.

Later, she joined the Tech faculty as an assistant professor in the School of Home Economics until her retirement in 1983. 
After her retirement, she and her husband moved to the family ranch on Lake Buchanan in Llano County, where she continued her community involvement with the hospital board, museum board and the Methodist Church.

She returned to Lubbock in 2003, where she lived at Carillon House.

She was preceded in death by her husband in January 1986 and son Philip in November 1995.

Survivors include son Bryan Sherrod Edwards and wife Barbara of Bluffton; daughter Jeanene Edwards Fulgham and husband Jim of Arlington; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A service is 11:30 a.m. Dec. 28 at the Bluffton Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Llano County Library, 102 E. Haynie, Llano.
