Willard Tyler ‘Bill’ Geiger, 81, died Dec. 18, 2010, at his residence in Meadowlakes. He was born July 2, 1929, in Topeka, Kan., to Willard Tyler and Blanche Byler Geiger.

He served in the Army Air Corps in Korea, and was a civil engineer and project manager in the power industry.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Ruth Martin Geiger; sister Mary Geiger Vogt and husband Fred of Florida; sons W. Tyler Geiger III and wife Cynthia of Missouri City, John C. Geiger and wife Barbara of Salina, Kan., and Dennis Martin and wife Kathy of Midland; daughter Beverly Latham and husband Mills of Corpus Christi; grandchildren Eric Geiger and wife Gina, Christy Geiger, Stephen Geiger, Staci Puryear, Marina Stanaland and Carrie Cosner; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Erin and Kira Lee Geiger, River Puryear, Luke Puryear, Rhys Stanaland and James Patrick Cosner.

A visitation is 6-8 p.m. Dec. 20 at Penwell-Gabel Midtown Chapel, 1321 S.W. 10th Ave., Topeka.

A funeral service is 11 a.m. Dec. 21 at the Grace Episcopal Cathedral, 701 S.W. 8th Ave., Topeka, with interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
