Malcolm Otto, 83, of Llano died Dec. 5, 2010. He was born March 19, 1927, to Lilly (Ahrens) and Max Otto on the family ranch in Llano County.

He married Ferne (Atkinson) Otto Nov. 20, 1980, in Melvin.

He was a lifetime resident of Llano and a retired rancher. He served with the Army in Korea and was a member of the American Legion of Llano.

He was a fisherman and loved his trail rides, which he sponsored for more than 20 years. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church of Llano.

Survivors include sister-in-law Ruby Otto of Llano; niece Maxanne Otto of Llano; great-niece Jessica Graham of Bandera; and numerous cousins and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 2005; parents; and brothers Herbert, Bud and Harry Otto.

Viewing begins 10 a.m. Dec. 8 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300.

A funeral service is 2 p.m. Dec. 9 at the funeral home with the Rev. Elliot Pancoast officiating. Burial follows at the Llano City Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Harvey Roberts, Bode Barker, Wade Wallins, George Hackney, Glenn Lewis and Tom Ball. Honorary pallbearers include Jimmy Don Gray, Jim Moore and Bill Swope.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to St. James Lutheran Church, 1403 Ford St., Llano, TX 78643.
