Clara Belle Matthews

Clara Belle Matthews, 95, of Harlingen died Nov. 26, 2010, in Horseshoe Bay. She was born Dec. 8, 1914, in De Funiak, Springs, Fla.,  to Raymond Innis and Irene Sechrest Matthews.

She was a dyslexia therapist for the San Benito Independent School District after retiring from a teaching career in Ohio. She had an active social life, being a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Delta Delta Delta, Alpha Delta Kappa, American Association of University Women, Garden Club and Order of The Eastern Star.

Survivors include daughter Irene Raye Millies Lokey of Horseshoe Bay; John Frederick Millies and wife Christine of Dallas; grandsons Christopher Raymond Lokey of Houston, Thor Nathaniel Lokey and wife Laura of Lakeway, Benjamin John Millies of San Antonio, and Jeremy Daniel Millies and Michael Aaron Millies, both of Dallas; great-grandchildren Madeline Grace Lokey and Thor Nathaniel Lokey II , both of Lakeway, and Alana Rae Millies and Rachel Belle Millies, both of Dallas.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

No services will be held.

A memorial donation can be made in her memory to a charity of choice.
