Mattie Richardson
Mattie Richardson, 96, died Nov. 19, 2010, in Marble Falls. She was born Dec. 27, 1913, in Red Bay, Ala., to W.R. and Mattie Johnson.
She was the last survivor of eight brothers and sisters.
She lived most of her life in Big Spring, from 1943-2005. She did move away for a few years as she followed her husband, who worked for Union Pacific Railroad.
She was a wife and mother.
Survivors include sons Don and wife Lynda of Navarre, Fla., and Jerry and wife Nancy of Burnet; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by daughter Nancy England and husband J.J. Richardson.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and aides at Granite Mesa Health Center in Marble Falls and Odyssey Hospice.
A funeral was Nov. 22 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory in Big Spring. Interment followed at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
