Nancy Katherine Grebe

Nancy Katherine Grebe, 70, of Taft died Nov. 13, 2010. She was born Nov. 16, 1939, in Taft to Royce Reeves McDonald and Marjorie B. McDonald.
She attended Texas A&I University where she met and married Herbert Otto Grebe Jr. Oct. 17, 1959. They moved to Taft in 1961 and lived there for more than 50 years.
She was raised in the family-owned business, the McDonald Cotton Gin, where she helped out until the gin was sold in 1971. She then worked in the grain industry as an office manager with Taft Grain and Planters Co-op for over 30 years.
She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Taft as well as the Taft Women’s Club.
Survivors include sons Trey and Clay; daughters-in-law Kim and Debbie; grandsons Brandon Hopkins of Austin, Travis and Trevor Grebe of Marble Falls, and Tommy and Scott Grebe of Enid, Okla.; sister Shirley Wiggins and husband Ed of Conroe; brother Royce McDonald and wife Sue of San Antonio; brother-in-law H.B. Grebe of Canton, Ga; and sister-in-law Betty Lou Summerlin of Garland.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and in-laws Herbert Otto Grebe Sr. and Bertha Kratz Grebe.
A visitation is 6-8 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Taft. A funeral service is 10 a.m. Nov. 17 at The First Baptist Church of Taft with the reverends Dale Pogue and David Parrie officiating.
Burial will follow in Portland, Texas, at San Patricio Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers include grandsons, Brandon Hopkins, Travis and Trevor Grebe, Tommy and Scott Grebe, Jim Wiggins, and Scott and Mike McDonald.
