Martha Jo Tumlinson Nesrsta, 77, died Oct. 16, 2010, at the Lighthouse Hospice in Round Rock. She was born Jan. 8, 1933, to John and Roland Witten Tumlinson.

She was a volunteer for Lighthouse Hospice and Meals on Wheels. Also, she was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Marble Falls.

She graduated from Waelder High School and Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. Later, she and her family moved from Pasadena to the Hill Country to establish a summer camp at Lake LBJ.

She taught 28 years at Marble Falls Elementary School. She loved her students and enjoyed sharing stories about the comical things children say and do.

She was a proud cancer survivor who enjoyed hunting and sitting around the campfire sharing hunting tales. She loved her friends and planned their annual birthday celebrations.

She was a gifted cook and hostess whose Christmas dinners and Thanksgiving feasts were beyond compare. She spoiled her grandchildren every chance she got and never missed one of their events.

Survivors include son Andy Nesrsta and wife Rhonda of Marble Falls; grandson Blake; granddaughter Taylor; sister Mary Jane Miksch and husband Thomas of Moss Hill; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son David and her parents.

Services are 10 a.m. Oct. 20 at The Fellowship Baptist Church, 2702 Mormon Mill Road in Marble Falls, with the Rev. Matt Homeyer officiating.

Burial in Waelder at the Hopkinsville Masonic Cemetery will be led by nephew Phil Fitzgerald.

Honorary pallbearers include Ronnie Yates, Ron Mitchell, Marion Nichols, Walton Cotton, Cecil Allee, Jim Ogg, Travis Thomas and Stacy Frasier.

Memorials can be made to the Relay for Life of Marble Falls and Fellowship Baptist Church.
