Raymond Ray Riley, 72, of Tow and formerly of Round Rock and Stephenville, died Sept. 14, 2010. He was born to Lola Brewer (Welch) and David Watson Riley May 15, 1938, in Oxford, Texas.

He married Audrey Faye (Myers) June 28, 1968, in Sinton.

He was in the Navy for more than 15 years as a survival equipment specialist. He served on several aircraft carriers including the USS Bennington, USS Ranger and USS America.

He retired from FMC in Stephenville May 2001 after 10 years.

In addition to his wife, survivors include children Dorothy Faye Perkins and husband Tommy of Burnet, Cynthia Lopez and husband Jose of Kingsland,  Richard Ray Riley and wife Wendy of Tow, Deanna Elaine Carpenter of Stephenville, and James Clifford Riley and wife Alison of Round Rock; stepsons Stephen Wayne Riley of Tucson, Ariz., Thomas Dwayne Riley and wife Connie of Oregon, and Michael Ray Riley and wife Natalie of Pine Bluff, Ark.; stepdaughter Diane Selby and husband Bill of Burnet; grandchildren Dorothy Shae Barbee, Clifford Perkins, Tom Perkins, Ebony Morehead, Cyndel Garza, Lauren Snell and husband Justin, Katie Fallon, Haley Powell, Sara Riley, Sarah Carpenter, Ashley Riley, Alexys Riley, Alysa Riley, Danielle Rice, Charles Rice, Dawn Klinliewiez, Randy and Robert Selby and Aubry Keith Merkel; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Jesse L. Welch of Burnet; sister Fae Halliburton and husband Wardell of Bluffton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Lizzy Welch and Clovene Ivy; brothers Melvin Welch, Roy David Riley, Thomas E. Riley and James C. Moore; grandson Joseph Barbee; stepson Aubry Roy Merkel and stepdaughter Karen Rice.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Sept. 16 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300.

A graveside service is 10 a.m. Sept. 17 at the Board Branch Cemetery in Lone Grove with the Rev. Ken Barrington officiating.

Honorary pallbearers include Johnny Sawyer, Sam Wright, Stacey Kelleher, Larry Ligon, Kurt Dawson and Jerald Brandt.
