Sam Weide

Sam Weide, 69, died May 1, 2010, at his residence in Kingsland. He was born in England on Dec. 25, 1940, and lived there until 10 years ago when he and his family came to the United States.

He spent his career building and repairing ships. He loved his dogs, Red and Judy.

Survivors include children Alan Weide of Kingsland and Joanne Phillips of England.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; sisters; and his wife, Joan, who died Feb. 17, 2010.

A memorial service is 2 p.m. Thursday at the Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008..
