Lonnie Carl Wilkerson, 80, of Kingsland died April 20, 2010. He was born to John and Alice (Murphy) Wilkerson Nov. 19, 1929, in Lake City, Ark.

He served his country in the Navy. He married Wanda Marie Looney June 15, 1951, in Tomball and was a technical supervisor for Exxon for 35 years.

After he retired, the couple moved to Kingsland in 1986, where he was a member of the Exxon Annuitants Club, Country Cuzzins Square Dance Club, Camping Squares, Kingsland Lions Club and the Highland Lakes Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years; sons Stanley Wilkerson of Granite Shoals, Paul Wilkerson of Tomball; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Thursday at the Putnam Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Winnett and Allen Wilkerson officiating.

Interment will be 2 p.m. Friday at Decker’s Prairie Cemetery near Tomball with military honors. An online guest register can be signed at www.putnamfunerals.com.
