Jeannine Bruhl, 72, died peacefully at her home in Meadowlakes April 8, 2010. She was born June 27, 1937, in Flint, Mich.

She spent her youth in Michigan and attended Michigan State University for a time. She worked as a secretary for various businesses and also sold plants at a nursery. She met her husband Don when they both worked at GMAC in Flint. She was an executive assistant, and he was a ceramic engineer. They married July 3, 1960.

She moved around the country with her husband as his job locations changed. She lived in Michigan, where her first daughter was born; California; Ohio, where her second daughter was born; and a number of cities in Texas. Summer vacations were spent on trips to Galveston and back to Michigan to visit family. When her husband switched careers and became a certified public accountant, she was the secretary and office manager at his practice. She retired from work because of her health.

She loved plants and was an avid fan of African violets, which at times took every available space in the house. She loved a nicely landscaped yard and was known to keep close track of any landscaper who maintained the yard. She was particularly fond of Texas redbud trees, especially when they bloomed in the spring.

She loved decorating the house for the holidays and was renowned for her Christmas treats. She was known to coordinate wrapping paper and ribbons to go with the Christmas tree. Her love for her daughters was legendary, as she was more than willing to tell any stranger she met about what was going on in their lives.

Survivors include her husband; daughters Tina Timmerman and husband Craig of Austin, and Dona Loethen and husband Bruce of Leander; and nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Cherry; and brother Hal.

A funeral service is 2 p.m. April 10 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls. Interment will follow at Marble Falls City Cemetery.
