Kenneth Gerald Gallimore, 87, died March 31, 2010. He was born May 24, 1922, to James Ernest Gallimore and Minneapolis "Minnie" Ethel Killian in Farmersville.

He was raised in Alice and graduated high school in 1940. He immediately joined the Armed Forces and was a member of Gen. George Patton’s 3rd Army during the European Campaign of World War II. He worked for 38 years for Celanese Corporation in Bishop, retired at age 62 and moved to Horseshoe Bay.

Survivors include his wife Marylyn Gallimore; children Michael Gallimore and wife Toni, Kim Stayt, Kelly Gallimore, Raebeth Summers and husband Frank, and Joe E. Plant and wife Mary; sister Elizabeth Robinson; sister-in-law Johnnie Gallimore; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one expected great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings James Gallimore, Lyndall Atkinson, Madeline McDonald, Harold Gallimore, Pete Gallimore, Sherill Grady, Shirley Anderson and Douglas "Bo" Gallimore; daughter Karen Gail Gallimore; and former wife Jeroldene Lea Gallimore.

A memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland.

Honorary pallbearers will be Marion Nichols, Gregg Webb, Bob Duffin, Ovidio Farias, Wallace Weeks, Luke Ludeke and Rune Strand.
