Ann George Maples, 72, of Llano and formerly of Dallas, died March 26, 2010. She was born Nov. 7, 1937, in Fort Worth to Lizbeth (Fox) and Roy Spencer.

She married Thomas Edward Maples June 25, 1955, in Dallas.

She was a member of the Llano Chamber of Commerce and loved ranching, growing peaches, hunting and her family.

Survivors include her sons Glenn Edward Maples and wife Anna of Natchitoches, La., Brian Anthony Maples and wife Nancy of Field Creek, Scott Alan Maples and wife Jennifer of Avendale, Ariz., and Todd Evan Maples and wife Karen of Kingsland; brother Jon Anthony George of Los Angeles; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband May 1, 1998; and her parents.

A memorial service is 1 p.m. March 31 at the Lutie Watkins Memorial United Methodist Church, 800 Wright St. in Llano, with the Rev.  Stan Troy officiating.
