Warriors youth baseball team wins championship

The Warriors baseball team, compiled of 11-and-under athletes, are the Blue Diamond Super Series champions after winning three games May 20. Marble Falls hands out awards for baseball, softball, powerlifting

MARBLE FALLS — Members of the Marble Falls High School baseball, softball and powerflifting teams gathered May 16 to celebrate the accomplishments of the 2012 season.

For the first time since 2009, both the baseball and softball squads qualified for the postseason and reached the second round of the playoffs, though they each took different routes in getting there.

The Lady Mustangs were in first place in District 25-4A throughout the season only to give up the top spot in the final week.

CASTROVILLE —The Marble Falls High School baseball team's season is over, courtesy of a 10-0 loss to San Antonio Alamo Heights May 12 in six innings.

The Mules (23-10) swept  Marble Falls in two games to advance to the regional quarterfinals.

Game 1 of Marble Falls playoff series postponed to May 11

KERRVILLE — Game 1 of the Marble Falls High School-San Antonio Alamo Heights best-of-three playoff series will be played May 11 instead of May 10 with a 7 p.m. first pitch.

That means Games 2 and 3, if needed, will be played May 12 beginning at 1 p.m. The series will be at Kerrville Tivy High School, 3250 Loop 534.
