Highland Lakes residents and those living in Marble Falls specifically who want to get more bang for their buck during the annual July Fourth fireworks show have only seven weeks left to give a donation.

Why does the display deserve the public’s financial support, other than the fact it’s part of a patriotic observance of the nation’s independence?

Though it’s certainly not their intent, parents and others who don’t secure their prescription drugs could be contributing to an increase in narcotics abuse among area teens.

Police, juvenile probation officials and the Burnet County Attorney’s Office say there is a spike in abuses involving hydrocodone among minors.

In the march to a glorious future for Marble Falls, city leaders shouldn’t lose sight of the basic needs of the present.

There’s been a lot of talk lately about a future sports complex, a future road extension project in the Business and Technology Park and a future visitors center to replace the charming one — an old train depot — the city now has.
