Memoir Writing Workshops with Terri Schexnayder
Tuesdays, Oct. 6, 13, 20, & 27 at 10:30 a.m.
Lakeshore Library is hosting another series of memoir writing workshops with all new topics, Tuesdays in October at 10:30 a.m. These fun and inspirational classes will help writers of all levels discover their powerful life stories.
Terri Schexnayder, author and writing instructor, offers prompts based on poetry, fiction or nonfiction to generate ideas for your memoir. All you have to bring is paper and a writing instrument, and the willingness to write your stories. This is a valuable practice, whether for your eyes only, as a legacy for your family, or for eventual publication.
October 6: Lessons Learned – Who was a mentor in your life and what did they teach you? How have you used that knowledge and/or advice in your life?
October 13: Best Kept Secret – What is something you never told anyone? Have you kept a promise to a friend or witnessed/heard something you wish you had shared, or wish you had told a loved one when they were in your life?
October 20: Snapshot of the perfect day – Bring 2-3 photos from childhood or adulthood, representing a “perfect day”. Examine emotions conveyed and what else was happening beyond the photo.
October 27: Favorite Holiday – Write about your favorite holiday. Why? Family traditions?
These programs are free and open to the public, but space is limited, so please RSVP to 325-379-1174 or lakeshore.library@gmail.com to reserve your spot. Lakeshore Library is located at 7346 Ranch Road 261 in Buchanan Dam.
