MARBLE FALLS — By 8 a.m. Oct. 13, Marble Falls High School Principal Eric Penrod had downloaded the form from the University Interscholastic League website for one of the most important dates on the calendar — enrollment numbers.

The UIL asked member schools to submit a snapshot number — a cumulative total of students in grades 8-11 — Oct. 13 for realignment.

The governing body uses that number to make up the five conferences of public schools across the state.
