No. 1 Lake Travis sweeps Lady Mustangs

MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls High School volleyball team was swept by Lake Travis 11-25, 13-25, 12-25 on Oct. 4.

The Lady Cavs (37-0, 7-0) are ranked No. 1 nationally by PrepVolleyball.com and No. 2 in MaxPreps.com Xcellent 25 volleyball rankings. The Lady Mustangs now are 16-16 overall and 2-5 in District 25-4A.

Head coach Julie Downs said her squad can take several positives from the match.

“Overall, we scored more points (than in the previous game against Lake Travis),” she said. “If I look at stats, they’re much better than they were in the previous game. So we made some changes, and those changes didn’t quite work out all the way, completely as to what we wanted to do. But I feel like overall in comparison as to what we wanted to do, we have improved. So that’s good. We didn’t lay down.”
