Errors lead to loss for Lady Mustangs, coach says
CEDAR PARK — The Marble Falls High School volleyball team lost to Cedar Park Vista Ridge 12-25, 20-25, 16-26 on Sept. 23.
The Lady Mustangs (15-13, 1-3) couldn’t overcome their mistakes, head coach Julie Downs said.
The Lady Rangers (24-12, 2-2) were the Class 4A state runners-up in 2005.
Because of Vista Ridge’s tradition, Marble Falls had to play at a high level with few errors. That didn’t happen, Downs said.
“The girls seemed very flat and let errors magnify the previous one and spiraled us to a loss,” she said. “We were effective in executing our defense, while allowing Vista to hit and digging their attacks. However, we were unable to turn those digs into effective sets and kills.”
