Marble Falls anglers wrap up national tournament

RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas — Four members of the Marble Falls High School Bass Fishing Club found themselves in unfamiliar territory as they competed in the 2011 High School Fishing World Finals on Lake Dardanelle July 18-25.

“The lake was more like a wide river and the fish had so many places to hide,” club member Logan Clark said. “So finding the fish itself was challenging.”

The Marble Falls team of Timothy Tucker (left), Toby Tucker and Shilo Nelson were announced as the winners of the Boat Captain’s Jackpot Tournament on the last day of pre-fishing for the High School Fishing World Championship July 20 on Lake Dardanelle in Arkansas. During the jackpot tournament, the boat captain fished alongside the high school anglers. But when the official tournament started July 21, only the two high school students were allowed to fish.
