Twas the night before Christmas and all through the land,

the taxpayers are troubled, the Congress gone mad.

Passing treaties and spending bills to complete their assault,

Our only hope is to keep our money safely locked in a vault.

The Beltway Crew is all snug in their beds,

with visions of earmarks dancing in their heads.

From the supposedly wealthy and rich they continue to plunder,

But if truth be told, they will drive the land under.

The president and his minions have left us a gift,

by attempting to give amnesty to illegals, they have created a rift.

Our taxes will be growing, there is a large debt to pay.

The future looks cloudy, it might be doomsday.

Inflation will follow, the dollar may die,

Depression could linger, and cause us to cry.

Our culture has eroded, political correctness has won,

Our children will soon suffer from all we have done.

Our identity stolen, we no longer know who we are,

History has been rewritten, we have drifted afar.

Christians are troubled, Satan seems to be winning the game,

The Evil One is basking in his glory and fame.

God reminds his followers, though, to fear not at all,

because Jesus has died for repentance for all.

Grace has been granted to all who apply,

Thank goodness God’s mercy has an unlimited supply.

The battle is not over, but the war has been won,

because the child born in a manger was God’s only Son.

And finally, remember on this Christmas Day

to be grateful and thankful and continue to pray.
