MARBLE FALLS — With the regular season of the Marble Falls Youth Baseball and Softball Association ending, the organization has turned its attention to the playoffs.

That means coaches and athletes have been chosen to play in three age divisions of both sports.

Softball coach Bobby Tipps of the Bronco (12-and-under division) team said the players have been practicing well. This marks his fifth year to coach. His team, Genesis, won the league championship this season.

Their season starts this weekend in a warm-up tournament in Round Rock.

The first round of the all-star playoffs is set for June 17-18.

The Bronco team consists of athletes from Marble Falls, Burnet and Bertram.

They include Hailey Riley, Jill Rosrow, Kylah Arnold, Miranda Weeks, Lexey Parker, Delaney Tipps, the coach’s daughter, Caleigh Niemann, Callie Herring, Kylie Burton and Hannah Marks.

Genesis players make up most of the roster, Tipps said, so his expectations are “really high to be honest.”

“As far as the actual all-star tournament, I think the girls have a shot at going all the way to the top,” he said. “I do see a lot of potential in these girls.”

The team’s first game of the weekend tournament starts at 8:25 p.m. June 3. Marble Falls will play two games June 4 and two June 5.

“I’m really proud of each and every one of the girls,” Tipps said. “They deserve to do well.”
