Mustang softball all-stars’ dedication key to success, coach says
MARBLE FALLS — Manager Michelle Everhart commended her softball team for bringing out the best in each other, which is evident in their commitment.
“I have 12 of the most dedicated, hardworking girls,” said the coach of the Mustang softball all-stars. “They’re really hardworking.”
In fact, her Marble Falls Youth Baseball and Softball Association team went 20-0 during the season, including a win against Liberty Hill, which is known for producing solid athletes.
“They get mad when runs are scored again them,” she said of her players.
The all-star team of players 10 years and younger includes Sarah Cauble, Makenna De Lill, Taylor Everhart, Elicia Gonzalez, Shaye Hawkinson, twins Alexa and Marlee Barry, Halee Hodge, Victoria Macias, Logan Hulon and Camryn Jenkins.
The players have been working out for two weeks.
The team will participate in a warm-up tournament June 10-12. The sectional tournament is June 17-19.
“Honestly, I couldn’t ask for a better group of kids,” Everhart said. “They’re well-rounded. They are genuinely great. They’re amazing ball players. They work well together. We have a really strong opportunity to go a long way. This group of kids has what it takes.”
