L.V. (Nobles) Delz, 90, of Kingsland died Jan. 20, 2018
L.V. (Nobles) Delz of Kingsland, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 20, 2018, in Marble Falls, Texas. L.V., who was more commonly referred to as Mom, Grannie, or Aunt Chach, was born the youngest child of Lucy Mae (Lockhart) and W.F. “Buck” Nobles on June 15, 1927, in Tow, Texas.
She was married to Marl Delz on April 2, 1949, in Bluffton, Texas, by her uncle, Pastor Leonard Valentine Nobles. Other than during the time her husband was deployed to Korea, she was a lifetime resident of Llano County. She was the former owner of LV Delz Income Tax and Bookkeeping Service, The Vanity Beauty Salon, and Marl Delz Painting Co., all in Kingsland.
L.V. and Marl enjoyed many hobbies and interests together such as golf, bowling, and gambling. They loved taking trips to Bossier City, Louisiana; Las Vegas; and Laughlin, Nevada.
L.V. was actually quite a successful local amateur golfer for 50-plus years. She was the last surviving charter member of the original Packsaddle Country Club in Kingsland (now Lighthouse Country Club), and a multiple-times ladies club champion. She was also on a local bowling league for several years and won numerous awards and trophies.
L.V. was preceded in death by her husband, Marl Delz; parents, Buck and Lucy Mae; brothers, Nolan “Bud” Nobles, Roy Nobles, Earl “Sam” Nobles (Vera), and W.F. Nobles Jr. (Marie); and sister Zula Mae “Lucky” Ormiston (Raymond).
She is survived by son, Gary Delz and wife Christa; grandchildren, Jess Delz (Laura), Kyndall Trahan (Justin), Hunter Delz, and Olivia Delz; sister Rue Ann Brown; sister-in-law, Lavern Nobles; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside services is 2 p.m. Jan. 23 at Bluffton Cemetery with a reception to follow at Lone Grove Community Center at the corner of RR 2241 and CR 216.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
