MARBLE FALLS — The  difference between the Faith Academy Junior High School team and Austin Hill Country was apparent in the final 6 minutes 32 seconds of the first half Thursday.

With the Knights (10-1) leading 14-12, the Flames capped a 50-yard drive when eighth-grader Jacob Metcalf scored from seven yards out.

Faith (9-0) never trailed again in winning the battle of undefeated teams 44-14.

The squad is Faith’s first junior high team to complete a season unbeaten.

“Not surprised,” second-year head coach Jason Cain said of the season’s success. “By the end, I was just anxious. I was very pleased.”
