MARBLE FALLS —When the Marble Falls High School football team welcomed Leander Vandegrift on Friday, both squads arrived believing a win would get one to the playoffs.

And both teams played like it, too, with neither squad giving an inch, even when the offense made spectacular plays to move the chains.

But in the end, the Vipers (7-3, 3-3) made more plays in securing a 35-0 victory, ending the Mustangs’ (4-6, 1-4) season in District 25-4A..

“I’m very appreciative of the guys,” head coach Cord Woerner said. “Every season is a journey, and it’s all different. I appreciate the efforts the guys put in.”
