MARBLE FALLS — Faith Academy’s senior linebacker Casey Clendennen spent almost as much time in the San Antonio Lutheran backfield as the opposition’s quarterback Friday.

Clendennen had his hand in just about every sack the Flames registered on Pony Field and most San Antonio plays for losses in Faith’s 57-12 victory. The win gives Faith a 1-1 district record, 4-3 overall.

“Casey played with his hair on fire tonight,” said Faith head coach Russell Roberts. “He was making plays everywhere.”

Clendennen and Faith defenders were attacking so aggressively and fast, San Antonio Lutheran Mustangs quarterback Michael Moritz often didn’t even have time to drop back before a Flame was in his face.

“Basically, we played very aggressively,” Roberts said. “We felt that our No. 1 advantage going into tonight was the speed at which we play the game.”
