FROM STAFF REPORTS

MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls High School volleyball team fell to Leander Rouse 10-25, 13-25, 21-25 Oct. 11.

Head coach Julie Downs said the Lady Mustangs’ defense needed some time to get used to the Lady Raiders’ front row.

“We really struggled against the tough-hitting Raiders in games one and two but finally made the necessary defensive adjustments to play well in game three,” she said.

She complimented the play of middle blocker Jackie Winn.

“But the (Mustangs’) defensive game was not matched with their offense,” the coach said. “The middle blockers continue to lead the team in kills.”
