Marble Falls subvarsity football goes 2-0 against Boerne Champion

MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls High School freshman gold team defeated Boerne Champion 15-14 on Sept. 19.
Quarterback Armond Pierre scored both touchdowns for the Mustangs. Each was from five yards out. Pierre also added a two-point run, and Hunter Topoloski kicked an extra point.
One of the big plays in the second quarter was when Pierre hit Skilar Sallas on a 35-yard pass for the Mustangs.
Marble Falls scored first for a 7-0 lead that stuck until the third quarter. The Chargers scored a touchdown in the third quarter and again in the fourth.
Mustang Brandon Reyes recorded an interception. The Marble Falls offense took over with five minutes left and ran out the clock for the win.
Marble Falls hosts Boerne High at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at Mustang Stadium, 2101 Mustang Drive.

MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls High School freshman purple team led Boerne Champion 7-0 with 5 minutes remaining in the first half Sept. 19.
The game was stopped because of lightning.
Damian Sanchez recorded an interception and then ran in a one-yard touchdown. Gavino Tinajera added the extra point.
The Mustangs defense forced the Chargers to turn over the ball on downs when Champion was inside the Marble Falls 10-yard line with 6:30 left in the first half.
