As the saying goes, “You can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all the people all of the time.”

President Barack Obama’s most recent speech on the Middle East supporting a Palestinian state is another indication of his anti-Israel intentions. Although he continues to deny any Muslim ties, records indicate that at one time he was enrolled in an Indonesian school in which Islam was listed as his religion.

The mainstream media continues to overlook significant discrepancies in his past. No president in American history has such a clouded background. Virtually all records about the former history of the junior U.S. senator from Illinois have not been made available.

Questions about his birth and authorship of his biography, “Dreams From My Father,” have been a subject of scrutiny by various authors.

Two recently published books from credible journalists explore these discrepancies in great detail.

One is written by award-winning author Jack Cashill. His book, "Deconstructing Obama: The Life, Loves, and Letters of America’s First Post-Modern President," examines several issues. But most pertinent is his research into the authorship of "Dreams." Cashill holds a doctorate in American studies from Purdue University.

The second book by Jerome Corsi, author of two New York Times bestsellers, specifically delves into Obama’s citizenship and the infamous birth certificate issue. "Where is the Birth Certificate?" is the most extensively researched book to date on the subject and is currently a No. 1 seller on Amazon.com. Corsi holds a doctorate from Harvard.

Neither author remotely would be considered a political hack whose sole purpose in writing is character assassination. Nevertheless, the mainstream media seems content on dismissing these two authors among many who are critical of Obama. Quite frankly, if any character assassination is being done, it is by the president’s defenders.

Obama has repeatedly and publicly told people his father left the family when he was 2, but there is no record that his dad ever lived with the family.

It is incomprehensible to me that our foreign policy has shifted away from support of Israel, a country that we share so much in common, to radical forces whose sole intent is to destroy Israel first and the United States second.

As a Christian, more than half of the Bible I study contains a history of the Israelite people. My Lord and Savior was an itinerant Jewish carpenter whose short three-year ministry changed the world.

Where is the outrage? Our greatness was built around biblical principles brought over to the New World by our Christian ancestors. Our indifference to what is taking place in this country will be our demise.

As I watched the movie "The Patriot" over the weekend, I was reminded once again of the price of freedom. Our forefathers were willing to give up everything they owned for a belief. There comes a time in life when one has to stand up for what one believes. Our failure to act and to speak up will send us down a road to a destination where no one wants to be, and abandoning Israel will put us on that path.
