Lady Pups suffer some setbacks

BURNET — The Burnet Middle School eighth-grade A and B girls basketball teams hosted Liberty Hill, while the C team played host to Lampasas recently. 

The Lady Pups eighth-grade A team and C teams were handed a couple of tough losses, coaches said.  

The eighth-grade C team lost to Lampasas 17-0.  

“The C team played hard but just were unable to find a way to get the ball in the basket,” coach Keri Waide said.  

The eighth-grade A team lost to Liberty Hill, 45-8.  

Catherine Hirneisen led the team with six points, while Shaylan Edwards added two more.  

The teams will stay busy during this month. The C teams will play on Mondays while the A and B teams play on Thursdays with tournaments on the weekends.
