Venable worked in public policy and grassroots campaigns in government — the political arena and in the private sector for more than 30 years. She spent 15 years in Washington, D.C., working for three administrations.
Venable participated in political and issue campaigns at the national, state and local levels. She now uses her public policy expertise to direct Americans for Prosperity in Texas.
This is a grass-roots organization focused on taxpayer protection, officials said. Venable has filed a lawsuit on behalf of taxpayers on taxpayer-funded lobbying and is a national spokeswoman on the issue.
She hosts syndicated talk shows and has appeared as a guest on radio and television.
Venable, an author of more than 100 articles that have appeared in leading Texas newspapers, speaks to groups around the state on tax and budget issues.
