Ranger Jackson visits Marble Falls Library

MARBLE FALLS — Author and retired Texas Ranger Joaquin Jackson of Alpine will be the final presenter for the Friends of the Marble Falls Public Library “Lunch with an Author” Nov. 19.

His wife Shirley Jackson is expected to accompany him.

Jackson, with David Marion Wilkinson, published “One Ranger” in 2005, Jackson’s memoir of life as a Ranger on the Texas border from 1966-1993. He became well known when his picture appeared on the cover of Texas Monthly and his story has provided material for movies.

Now an additional book, “One Ranger: Returns,” is available with more unforgettable Ranger adventures, organizers said.

The library is located at 101 Main St.

For those who already have reservations, lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m., and the author will speak at noon.Reservations are currently filled and a waiting list has been started.

“If you have made a reservation and find you cannot attend, please let the library know so that we can accommodate someone from the waiting list,” said Camille Sweigart, president of Friends of the Library.

Presentations and lunches are free, but donations may be made to the lunch fund.
