Horseshoe Bay residents have until 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, to weigh in on a proposed long-term plan to shape the city’s growth and development through 2047.

The city is seeking public feedback on its draft Comprehensive Plan 2047, which outlines priorities for future development while preserving the city’s character. The plan would guide decisions on land use, economic development, infrastructure and community amenities.

Among the proposals are expanded commercial and mixed-use development along Texas 71 to attract businesses, create jobs and diversify the city’s tax base. The plan also envisions a walkable town center, additional housing options and potential industrial development near the airport, away from residential neighborhoods.

Other priorities are protecting parks, open spaces, scenic views and dark night skies while ensuring roads, water and sewer infrastructure can accommodate future growth.

Residents, property owners and other stakeholders are encouraged to review the draft and share their feedback through an online survey. The city will use that input to refine the plan before presenting it to the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council for consideration.

Final adoption is expected before the end of 2026. The online survey is available here.
