It’s Week 4 of the 2025 high school football season. Marble Falls and Llano hit the road Sept. 19, while Burnet and Faith Academy play at home.

Here’s a preview of Friday night’s matchups:

Marble Falls Mustangs vs. Brackenridge Eagles

KICKOFF: 7 p.m. Friday

WHERE: SAISD Sports Complex, 1000 Edwards in San Antonio

LAST WEEK: Llano 50, Marble Falls 18

The Mustangs (1-2) travel to San Antonio to take on the Brackenridge Eagles (1-2). Marble Falls is looking for a win after a tough loss to Llano (3-0) in Week 3.

Mustangs head coach Keri Timmerman saw a silver lining in the loss to the Yellowjackets and believes his team showed promise.

“We’re proud of our kids. There was a lot of really positive stuff (in the Llano game),” Timmerman told KBEY 103.9 FM’s Ben Shields in an interview. “Our kids got confidence Friday night, but a win is a win and a loss is a loss.”

The Marble Falls squad now focuses on Brackenridge, a team the Mustangs beat 49-0 in the 2024 season.

“I think there is excitement knowing this is a team we should take care of,” Timmerman said.

Burnet Bulldogs vs. Fredericksburg Billies

KICKOFF: 7:30 p.m. Friday

WHERE: Bulldog Stadium, 1401 Main St. in Burnet

PREVIEW: Tune in to KBEY 103.9 FM Radio Picayune at 9 a.m. Wednesdays throughout the season for “In the Bulldogs Huddle” with head coach Ben Speer, who joins host Ben Shields for a chat about everything Burnet football.

LAST WEEK: Burnet 31, Little River Academy 28

The Bulldogs (1-2) took home their first win of the season last week against the Little River Academy Bumblebees (0-3). This week, they face the Fredericksburg Billies (0-3) at home.

“It’s always nice after you get a win, that first win of the season,” Speer told Ben Shields in a KBEY 103.9 FM interview. “It gives everyone a little boost, a little shot in the arm, and you feel like you’re heading in the right direction.”

While the Billies have yet to put a tick in the win column, Speer noted that they could still be a very tough opponent, as they have had all challenging foes so far, including Lampasas (3-0), Wimberley (2-1), and Kerrville Tivy (2-1).

“Their 0-3 record doesn’t really speak about them. They’ve played some really good teams,” he explained to Shields. “I’m sure they think they’ve got a shot this Friday as well.”

Burnet beat the Billies 22-15 in 2024.

Faith Academy Flames vs. Nueces Canyon Panthers

KICKOFF: 7:30 p.m. Friday

WHERE: Faith Academy, 3151 RR 1431 East in Marble Falls

LAST WEEK: Heritage Christian 54, Faith Academy 46

The Flames (2-1) suffered their first loss of the season against Heritage Christian (3-0) last Friday. They’re looking to reignite their hot streak against Nueces Canyon (1-2) this week.

Faith Academy scored a solid win, 68-19, when the two teams played in 2024.

Llano Yellowjackets vs. Jarrell Cougars

KICKOFF: 7 p.m. Friday

WHERE: Jarrell High School, 1100 FM 487 in Jarrell

LAST WEEK: Llano 50, Marble Falls 18

The Yellowjackets (3-0) buzzed through the Mustangs (1-2) last week and hope to keep up the momentum against the undefeated Jarrell Cougars (3-0) on Friday.

Llano beat Jarrell 21-14 when the teams faced off last season.
