BIZ BRIEF: Little Red Barn Stand expanding to big market in Burnet

A farm-fresh barn stand in Burnet that offers homegrown produce and handmade goods is expanding its footprint near downtown.
The Little Red Barn Stand–a small, garage-built farm stand which is open every weekend at 18000 E. Texas 29–will soon become the Little Red Barn Market as it moves into a much larger, permanent home.
Owner and co-operator of the stand, Sarah Files, told DailyTrib that she had recently purchased land at 103 S. Silver Street, and is in the process of renovating the large barn that sits on the property to become the new home of Little Red.
Should all things go smoothly with permitting and renovations, Files said that the market will open in three to four months.
“This all came to be from the Little Red Barn Stand,” she said. “I wanted to give my community a chance to sell their products, and it’s turned into this. The community has really come together to help me get this started, and I look forward to being able to continue providing for them.”
The larger footprint will also bring extended hours of operation, with the market to be open Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.-6 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
Files added that the market will be stocked daily with fresh produce, milk, cheese, butter, meat, and have a bakery. The market will have a rotating list of vendors, too, which has already grown to roughly 100 suitors.
“I’ve had an amazing turnout from (vendors),” Files told DailyTrib. “I’ve had about 100 people reach out, and I think I’m going to start with about 30 of them.”
Files and her co-operators have been vocal about the barn stand’s success on social media, noting on several occasions how quickly products have sold out on the weekends. Files is hoping that success will continue.
“Little Red Barn Stand has been such a delightful and fun project,” she said. “Everyone has been really honest and enjoys our products, and we’re hoping to continue getting their support.”
Files added that the community can expect another surprise nearby the new market, but will have to wait a few more months before it’s announced.
