Ahead of National Lineman Appreciation Day on April 18, Pedernales Electric Cooperative is encouraging members to send thank-you messages to its lineworkers in recognition of their work.

The cooperative has opened an online form available throughout April, and year-round, where members can submit notes of appreciation. PEC said the messages will be shared with lineworkers across its service area as a show of gratitude.

“For our crews, linework is not just a job, but a lifestyle,” PEC Chief Operations Officer of Distribution Nathan Fulmer said in a media release. “They’re committed to working safely and efficiently for our members 24/7 and in all types of weather. We’re grateful for the dedication our lineworkers give to their craft and their community, and we want them to know how much they’re appreciated.”

PEC lineworkers maintain more than 26,000 miles of distribution lines and 300 miles of transmission lines across an 8,100-square-mile service area.
