Highland Lakes football teams are deep into the season and suiting up for Halloween night games in Week 10. Marble Falls returns from its bye week, while Burnet gets a break. Faith Academy and Llano look to keep up their win streaks.
Here are the Oct. 31 matchups:
Marble Falls Mustangs at Lampasas Badgers
KICKOFF: 7:30 p.m. Friday

LAST GAME: Stephenville 65, Marble Falls 7
Marble Falls (3-5 overall, 0-2 district) is back from a bye to take on Lampasas (7-2, 1-2) in the third week of District 4-4A Division I play. The Mustangs suffered a decisive defeat (65-7) to the Stephenville Yellowjackets (8-0, 2-0) on Oct. 17. Stephenville is currently ranked No. 2 in Class 4A Division I, according to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football.
Mustangs head coach Keri Timmerman views contests against powerhouse teams as a test for his players.
“I think you just have to constantly talk to your kids about where they are,” he told KBEY 103.9 FM Radio Picayune’s Ben Shields in an interview. “We are a team that is still developing and growing. You see a different level when you play a team like Stephenville.
The Mustangs will have to win their next two games against Lampasas and Brownwood (5-3, 2-0) to make the playoffs.
Marble Falls lost to both squads in 2024: 61-7 to the Badgers and 42-14 to the Lions.
Faith Academy Flames vs. Bracken Christian Warriors
KICKOFF: 7 p.m. Friday
WHERE: Faith Academy, 3151 East RR 1431 in Marble Falls
LAST WEEK: Faith Academy 61, San Marcos Academy 16
Faith Academy (7-1 overall, 1-0 district) faces off against Bracken Christian School (3-5, 1-0) in a Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Division 2 District 4 game on Friday. Last week, the Flames torched their first district opponent, San Marcos Academy (1-7, 0-1), 61-16.
Faith Academy won a close 68-62 contest against the Warriors in 2024.
Llano Yellowjackets at Marion Bulldogs
KICKOFF: 7 p.m. Friday
WHERE: Marion High School, 506 Bulldog Lane in Marion
LAST WEEK: Llano 35, Randolph 0
Llano (7-1 overall, 3-0 district) looks unstoppable heading into a District 13-3A Division I game against Marion (5-3, 2-1). The Yellowjackets are on a dominant run, beating Randolph (2-6, 0-3) 35-0, Luling (1-6, 1-2) 53-0, and Florence (0-8, 0-3) 58-7.
Llano defeated Marion 38-12 in 2024.
