Hobo stew fundraiser Oct. 25 in Spicewood
The Spicewood Community Center hosts its annual hobo stew fundraiser starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at 7901 CR 404. The event includes a cake walk, trunk-or-treat, and a stew meal with cornbread, iced tea, and dessert.
Cost is $15 a person. Children under 6 can eat for free with a paying adult. Attendees may bring a cake for the cake walk.
The hobo stew fundraiser has been taking place for more than 40 years. Proceeds benefit the Spicewood Community Center, formerly the Old Spicewood Schoolhouse. The center is used as a meeting space for the Spicewood 4-H, Spicewood Lions Club, and property owners’ association meetings as well as for family reunions, weddings and other events.
