Burnet and Llano counties will be under a National Weather Service flood watch from 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25. The cities of Burnet and Llano are specific areas of concern.

According to the NWS forecast, several counties in Central Texas could see 1-5 inches of rain and severe thunderstorms during the watch.

“Excessive runoff may result in life-threatening flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations in the Hill Country and southern Edwards Plateau as well as urban areas along the I-35 corridor,” reads the official flood watch issued at 10:51 a.m. Friday.
