Guest speakers will present a series of programs on the importance of night sky conservation in Burnet County. The first event is Monday, Oct. 20, at the Marble Falls Public Library.

The presentations will focus on the impacts of light pollution on wildlife and the environment and how residents can help make night skies darker to reduce negative effects.

Speakers include Hill Country Alliance Night Sky Program manager Dawn Davies, Marble Falls pastor and astronomer Harold Vanicek, and Round Mountain-based wildlife biologist Amy Sugeno.
